何でこう、上手く的に当たる日と当たらない日があるんだろう……。
Leonie: Why am I so off? Yesterday wasn't like this. Some days, I just can't seem to hit anything.
シャミア: 心、技、体が定まっていないからだ。体や心の調子に、技が合わせられていない。
つまり、未熟なんだ。繰り返し訓練を続ければ、改善する。
Shamir: Your mind, body, and technique are not synchronized. Find balance between the three. You lack experience. You'll improve if you practice.
レオニー: うう……そう言えば、シャミアさんが訓練してるのなんて見たことないような。
シャミアさんはいつ、訓練してるんですか？シャミアさんほどの名手は訓練卒業？
Leonie: Now that you mention it, Shamir, how come I've never seen you train? Do you keep odd hours? Or are you just so good that you don't even need to anymore?
シャミア: 訓練に終わりはない。常にやっている。例えば、これだ。
Shamir: I am always training. Look here.
レオニー: え？ 短剣？それで？
Leonie: A dagger?
シャミア: 見てろ。
Shamir: Watch.
レオニー: おー、流石！あんな遠くの柱に命中した！
……でも、これが訓練、ですか？
Leonie: Wow, nice throw! That was a long one! But, does throwing knives at pillars really count as shooting practice?
シャミア: 短剣を見てみろ。
Shamir: Look closely.
レオニー: はい……ひっ！？ む、ムカデえええ！？
ムカデを貫いちゃってます！！
Leonie: Is that — a centipede?! You pierced it clean in half! How did you even see that?!
シャミア: 鍛えるんだ。目を。狙いをつける速さを。正確さを。
空を飛ぶ鳥を見る。風を感じる。物との距離を自然に把握する。
武器を持たずともできる訓練もある。日常すべてを、訓練にできる。
Shamir: I train everything. Eyes. Speed. Accuracy.
Watch as the bird flies. Feel the wind. Measure the distance between objects.
Not all training requires a weapon. Integrate training with your daily routine.

Shamir: Very good. Just be cautious.

シャミア: レオニー、聞いたぞ。やらかしたな。
Shamir: I heard what you did. I'm disappointed, Leonie.
レオニー: うげ……シャミアさん。聞いたって……何のことでしょうねえ？
Leonie: Um, hi, Shamir. What have you heard, exactly?
シャミア: 中庭を通る連中に、弓で狙いをつける阿呆な訓練をしただろ？
やり過ぎには注意しろといったはずだ。
Shamir: You aimed your bow at a group of students passing through the monastery. Was this your idiotic idea of training? I told you to be cautious.
レオニー: 反省はしてますけど……、阿呆な訓練って酷いなあ……。
Leonie: I'm sorry! Idiotic's a bit hard though, isn't it?
シャミア: 狙いをつけて、どうするんだ。射るのか？ 射ないだろ。
それじゃ訓練にならん。ちゃんと射られる的でやれ。
Shamir: What were you planning on doing after you took aim? Shooting passersby? Of course not. If you want to train, choose a target you can actually shoot.
レオニー: 反省してますよ……。みんなにも散々、怒られたし。
Leonie: I know. Everyone was pretty mad. I'm really am sorry.
シャミア: 矢じりを向けられて喜ぶ奴はいない。……きっと。
Shamir: Nobody likes having a bow pointed at them.
レオニー: 師匠も前に、似たようなこと、やってたんだけどなあ……。
Leonie: My mentor used to do that kind of thing a lot.
シャミア: 師匠？ ジェラルトのことか？
よく知らんが、本当に似たようなことだったのか？
Shamir: Mentor? Was that Jeralt? I dunno much about him. Would he really do that?
レオニー: そうですよ。まあ、酔っ払ってる時だけでしたけど。
Leonie: Would and did. Mostly when he was drunk, though.
シャミア: そういう悪癖は参考にするな。
とにかく、これからは私のように、虫でも狙うんだな。
Shamir: Not a good habit to emulate.
From now on, only aim at bugs. Like I showed you.
レオニー: だ、だって……。虫、嫌いなんだもん……。
Leonie: But, um, I don't... Really like bugs.
シャミア: 君が？ 虫が苦手？似合わんな。
Shamir: You don't like bugs? That should make you want to aim at them even more.
レオニー: 似合う、似合わないの問題ですか？駄目なんですよ、特に足の多い奴は！
Leonie: I just can't look at them. Seeing all the extra legs, and things. Ugh! Makes my skin crawl.
シャミア: ……それじゃ、クモの絵でも描いてあちこち貼っておいたらどうだ。
絵を見る度に狙え。虫嫌いも克服できて、一石二鳥だ。
Shamir: Then just draw some spiders and hang them up on the walls. Aim at the drawings whenever you pass one. Overcome your fear of bugs as you train.
レオニー: えー、クモの絵を描くんですか？やだなー。
だいたい、そんなことでほんとに虫嫌いを克服できるんですか？
Leonie: You want me to draw spiders?! Ew, no! Would that even help?
シャミア: その点は実績がある。私がそうだ。
Shamir: Yes. I should know.
レオニー: え？ シャミアさんも虫嫌いだったんですか？
Leonie: Huh? You were scared of them too?
シャミア: ああ、クモが苦手だった。慣れた今では、何とも思わんが。
Shamir: I was, but they don't bother me anymore.
レオニー: そ、そうかあ……。わかりました！ やってみます！
Leonie: Okay, you've talked me into it. I'll give it a try.
シャミア: ……言うまでもないが、人の通るとこに絵を貼るなよ？
Shamir: And don't hang them where other people might pass.
レオニー: わ、わかってますよー。やだなー、もう、あはははは……。
Leonie: Got it! Got it. Learned my lesson. Promise.
シャミア: ……信じよう。
Shamir: I'm choosing to believe that.

Leonie: Guess that's enough for now.
シャミア: 調子が良さそうだな。日常に訓練を取り入れた成果か？
Shamir: You're improving, Leonie. No doubt a result of your new training routine.
レオニー: ああ、あれですか。やってはいるんですけど……。
Leonie: Right, about that. I've been doing everything you said, but...
シャミア: 何か問題が？
Shamir: Something wrong?
レオニー: 弓の腕は上がってるんですけど、虫嫌いは変わらず、かなと。
やっぱり今でも、実物のクモは苦手なんですよねー。
Leonie: Not with my archery, but... I'm not getting any better at dealing with bugs. Even with all the practice, I just can't bring myself to look at a real, live spider.
シャミア: 本当にクモを描いて狙っているか？絵を見せてみろ。
Shamir: You're still aiming at the spiders I instructed you to draw? Let me see one.
レオニー: いいですよー。どうぞ。
Leonie: Sure. Here.
シャミア: ……これは、何だ。
Shamir: I... What is this?
レオニー: どう見てもクモですよね。我ながら上手く描けたかなーと。
Leonie: What do you mean, what is it?! It's a spider!
シャミア: そう……か……フフ。ふふっふっふっふ、ふひーっひっひっひ！
Shamir: Ah, yes. I-I see now. It's quite — well, it's — hahaha!
レオニー: 笑った！？ シャミアさんが笑った！？しかも、おかしな引き笑い……！？
Leonie: What's so funny?!
シャミア: はあああ……ふうう。私も未熟だ。あまりな出来とはいえ、心が乱された。
Shamir: Haaah! Phew... I'm sorry. I lost my composure for a moment there. Your drawing is absolutely ridiculous.
レオニー: あまりな出来って、酷いなあ！だいたいこんな感じじゃないですか？
Leonie: Ridiculous?! That's what they look like, isn't it?!
シャミア: クモの足の数を知っているか？体の形は？
Shamir: Do you know how many legs a spider has? Or what it's body looks like? Or ever seen one at all?
レオニー: えー、知らないですよ。嫌いなんだから。
Leonie: I just told you I can't even look at the little monsters!
シャミア: ……大雑把さは師匠譲りか。
まあ、これを狙っていても、実物には慣れんだろうな。
笑った詫びだ。私が描いたクモをやろう。
Shamir: A lack of subtlety no doubt learned from your former mentor. Regardless, aiming at this target won't help you overcome your fears. Here, use one of my drawings instead. Consider it an apology for my outburst.
レオニー: ひゃー！？ な、何これ！本物のクモみたい！
Leonie: Oh, why did you have to be so detailed?!
シャミア: こうして細かく描けば、弱点もわかる。後は狙って射るだけだ。
Shamir: This much detail is necessary if you wish to identify your enemy's weak points.
レオニー: うう……丁寧に描き過ぎですよ。凝視できない……。
Leonie: Ew, it's too much! I can't stand the sight of it!
シャミア: 虫嫌いを治すには、これだ。弓の腕もついでに上がる。
Shamir: This is guaranteed to help you overcome your fears and improve your archery in the process.
レオニー: なんだか、弓の腕がついでになってきたような……。
Leonie: So, archery's secondary now, is it?
シャミア: 君は一流の傭兵になるんだろ？虫嫌いでは野営もできんぞ。
Shamir: You want to be a peerless mercenary, right? You'll never accomplish that if you're afraid of something as innocuous as a bug.
レオニー: そう言われると、頑張らなきゃ駄目か。シャミアさん、わたし、やりますよ！
絵のクモに慣れたら、本物のクモだって片っ端から退治してやりますから！
Leonie: When you put it that way, I guess I'll have to. Okay, Shamir, you've talked me into it. First I'll take out the drawings, and then I'll move onto the real thing!
シャミア: その意気だ。……よし、これでクモが減るな。
Shamir: Excellent. I look forward to seeing fewer spiders around here.
